Diaper Donations Ease Stress for Soccer Families

July marks the one year anniversary of partnership between Mitzvah Circle and Chester Upland Youth Soccer.

Through this remarkable relationship, CUYS staffers and volunteers make monthly trips to Mitzvah Circle’s Norristown facility to pick up donations of diapers, other toiletries, and household goods and bring them back into the Chester, Upland and Eddystone communities for free distribution to families in need.

Ms. Yolanda Jackson, Site Director for CUYS’ Soccer for Success program at Main Street Elementary School in Upland, and her husband Brian Parr, helped with the most recent shipments and even went door to door, delivering to families in need.

“One family is expecting another baby soon. I gave them newborn diapers and a playpen from Mitzvah Circle, and they were so grateful,” Ms. Jackson reported.

Lisa Wilson regularly drives to Norristown to pick up donations and helps distribute them to families at Chester Charter Scholars Academy, another one of CUYS' six current partner schools.

“This partnership has allowed us to provide tons of diapers for our families. It is greatly appreciated,” stated Ms. Wilson.

CUYS’ connection with Mitzvah Circle was suggested by the extraordinarily helpful and thoughtful team at The Community's Foundation and its community-advised fund, Project W. Project W will be hosting a free event Monday August 22, 5:30-7:30 at La Cannelle Cafe in Wallingford for folks interested in learning more about this women’s giving circle that harnesses the power of collective giving to address the needs of women in Delaware County.

Mitzvah Circle welcomes donations of toiletries and lightly used clothing and household goods. Please visit their Amazon wish list and view donation guidelines at https://mitzvahcircle.org/donate-items/.
