CUYS Coaches Attend National Soccer for Success Training
CUYS Head Coach-Mentors Chris and Titus went to Washington, DC last week to participate in the U.S. Soccer Foundation's annual training event that prepares attendees from its partner organizations with the knowledge and tools to effectively deliver Soccer for Success trainings in their communities. The program included a mix of classroom and field training sessions.
Each participant was sent home prepared to train the rest of the staff that will serve as Coach-Mentors for the upcoming fall season.
Coach-Mentor Chris reported, “Energy was high as people came back from virtual. I am supremely impressed by the facilitators. They made the event enjoyable, educational, and entertaining.”
According to Coach-Mentor Chris, “The agenda integrated athletic and non-athletic focused presenters - it was a great balance. The introduction of Social Emotional Learning is going to be a plus for everyone involved in our program. It will be beneficial for our coaches to take initiative to learn more about their community.”
