“Leveling the Playing Field” Partners with CUYS

Wednesday was a day full of volunteering and fantastic efforts as part of our latest partnership with Leveling the Playing Field. Leveling the Playing Field is an organization that redistributes used sports equipment to expand access and equity within youth sports and recreation programs in under-resourced communities. Volunteers from our organization and the local community began the day at the LPF warehouse, sorting and organizing through bins of used sports equipment. A huge thank you to our local volunteers, Mary, Megan, and Kelli, as well as Stephanie Scappa with the Chester Education Foundation, for providing your time and effort.

Later in the day, in collaboration with Chester Upland Youth Soccer, LPF hosted a popup giveaway event at Main Street Elementary, one of our Soccer for Success Locations. The event enabled over 30 kids to get new soccer equipment. Each kid was equipped with a new backpack, a pair of soccer socks, shinguards, cleats, and a soccer ball! Each child also had the chance to choose from an assortment of jerseys and pinnies, for either themselves or a parent.

Thank you to Danielle, Josh, and Brandon with Leveling the Playing Field for facilitating this event.
