Ridley United Soccer Club Welcomes CUYS Players for Advanced Training

When you love soccer, there’s never enough time on the pitch. CUYS is grateful to Ridley United Soccer Club for providing additional soccer training and playing opportunities for children whose families’ economic situations might have otherwise limited their access.

So far seven children from Greater Chester have been welcomed by Ridley, and more are likely to make the most of this opportunity in the Spring 2023 season and beyond

Chuck Catania Jr., club president, eagerly partnered with CUYS, sharing, “At the end of the day, we all have the same mission. Every child deserves the opportunity to participate, and we are happy to help make that possible.”

Mr. Catania is the recipient of the 2019 Andrew W. MacMurtrie Sportsperson of the Year award. The award is given annually to a sports-oriented individual who has voluntarily promoted, aided, assisted and or contributed time to youth organizations in the County without compensation. Catania has been involved with The Ridley United Soccer Club for over 20 years, starting out as a coach and reaching his current volunteer position as club president in 2011.
