CUYS Provides Assist to Family Summit

Chester Upland Youth Soccer was one of the main attractions at the Spring 2021 Youth and Family Summit hosted by Chester Upland School District, Making a Change Group, and the Chester Boys & Girls Club.

The event was held at Chester High School on a bright and breezy Saturday. Along with playing soccer, kids rode around on a train, played basketball and baseball, jumped rope, created art masterpieces, chased bubbles and participated in plenty of other fun activities set to music by a great local DJ.

After soccer ended, the field was used by Strath Haven High School’s ultimate frisbee team for a clinic and demonstration which was also well-attended.

Families were encouraged to bring home free books provided by the Kara Barnard Youth Literacy Fund, healthy groceries supplied by Chester Eastside and delivered by Family & Community Service of Delaware County, and brochures and other giveaways being handed out by a variety of organizations that support Chester families. Many of the participating organizations are part of Chester’s Mentoring Initiative, and you can learn more about their great programs at https://cuys.org/mentoring

Thanks to our awesome volunteers, Coach-Mentors and Site Directors along with all of the others who made such a fun day possible!
