The Foundation for Delaware County Provides 2021 Impact Grant to CUYS

Chester Upland Youth Soccer is grateful to once again receive a generous grant from The Foundation for Delaware County. The grant of $15,000 will support CUYS’s work mentoring under-served youth and encouraging healthy living choices through execution of the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Soccer for Success program at six local elementary schools in which a large population of children qualify for free or reduced school lunch.

The U.S. Soccer Foundation developed the Soccer for Success program to use soccer as a means for positive social change. The Foundation partners with nearly 200 community-based organizations nationwide to provide children facing social and economic barriers with easy and affordable access to quality soccer programs that support their physical and personal development.

Additionally, CUYS partners with impactful organizations like Chester Eastside Inc., Lifewerks, the Making a Change Group and the Kara Barnard Fund for Youth Literacy to broaden its ability to meet the needs of area children and their families.

“We are grateful to Chester Upland Youth Soccer  for providing students in Chester options for regular physical activity, in addition to mentoring and nutrition education. The Foundation for Delaware County is deeply committed to being a resource for nonprofits throughout Delaware County and are honored to support CUYS with this $15,000 Impact Grant,” said Frances Sheehan, President of The Foundation for Delaware County.

The Foundation for Delaware County is the largest community foundation in Delaware County. Its mission is to build a healthy community and encourage philanthropy throughout Delaware County.

CUYS has also received support from the U.S. Soccer Foundation, The Community’s Foundation, CCRES, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Boeing, Walmart, Target and other generous organizations and individuals. Further donations are gratefully accepted at https://cuys.org/donate
