Widener Soccer Hosts Clinic for CUYS and the Community

Yesterday, Widener Soccer players from both the men and women’s teams hosted a free clinic for the children of greater Chester. Drills and activities were appropriate for all ages and skill levels.

In perfect weather, the participants rotated through five stations where they played fun games that taught important skills. “Hungry Hungry Hippos” was Marcus’ favorite while Ariana got the biggest kick out of “Sharks and Minnows,” according to their mother who also gratefully remarked, “The coaches interacted with all the kids so comfortably throughout!”

Widener Soccer welcomes its new friends and all members of the community to the first games of its 2021 season, taking place Wednesday, September 1st from 4-9pm and nicknamed the Delco Derby. At 4pm, Widener women (including Coach Hannah) play Penn State - Harrisburg, and then at 7pm, Widener men (including Coach Oliver as goalkeeper coach) take on Swarthmore. There will be free food, fun activities, a bouncy house, and an opportunity to play on the field at half time. All the activities will take place at Leslie C. Quick Jr Stadium located at 1 University Place in Chester, PA.
