Swarthmore Rotary's Fun Fair Brings $650 into CUYS Coffers

On a perfect weather day, the Rotary Club of Swarthmore resumed its pre-pandemic tradition of hosting one of the town’s most beloved events: Fun Fair.

Fun Fair annually features a parade, four hours of continuous entertainment on four different stages, a food court offering a wide variety of great fare, and games and other participatory events at dozens of booths that benefit registered non-profit organizations.

In total, CUYS collected $647 in connection with Fun Fair 2022 - almost enough to cover the expenses of three children’s participation in the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Soccer for Success program during the school year. CUYS runs Soccer for Success as a free after-school program three days each week at a number of nearby elementary schools where over 90% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch because of their families’ economic status. CUYS also runs fun, free weekend activities for whole families to enjoy together. Learn more about helping to support the program with donations of time or money at https://cuys.org/donate.

Chester Upland Youth Soccer’s booth featured two different soccer games that proved quite popular with visitors: table-top foosball and a full-size goal-scoring challenge. Additionally, anyone donating $25 or more could choose from a variety of soccer-themed gifts. The booth was generously sponsored by local dental office Swarthmore Smiles, and enthusiastically set up and staffed by volunteers from Swarthmore College women’s soccer team and Strath Haven High School..
