Zoom Sing-along Party Kicks off CUYS’s First Winter Season

Following on the success of its November Zoom dance party, Chester Upland Youth Soccer hosted a Sing-along party via Zoom on Friday evening.

Twenty families participated, enjoying familiar songs and playing Freeze Dance and other active musical games from their homes.

Some highlights: Ava danced in a cat costume, Ella performed cartwheels, Imani imitated Bruno Mars in a sweet hat, Ty’s huge smile brightened everyone’s screen, and sisters Gloria and Valerie showed their best moves under flashing party lights.

The party celebrated the program’s first-ever winter season, which kicked off on Monday via Zoom.

“Our fall season gave many kids a positive activity to look forward to and enjoy, so there was no reason not to provide additional programming after the holiday break given the unusual circumstances presented by the pandemic,” explained CUYS Executive Director Jeannine Anckaitis.

“Winter weather can’t disrupt soccer training that is only being held indoors, and everyone can certainly benefit from the continuation of exercise and fun connections with Coach-Mentors made over Zoom.”

Registration for the winter season can be found at https://cuys.org/registration-info and is open at no charge to all Chester students from kindergarten through eighth grade, thanks to the program’s generous supporters.
