FC DELCO Supports CUYS Through Crossbar Challenge

Each year, FC DELCO hosts a crossbar challenge at the end of the fall season to raise money for a charity “that is close to all of our hearts.” This year, the club chose Chester Upland Youth Soccer.

“FC DELCO believes that every child should have access to soccer and enjoy the experience of being on a team, and so we are happy to support a program that provides free after-school soccer in communities with limited resources,” stated Rob Elliott, General Manager for FC DELCO.

The players of FC DELCO have been asked to make a donation to CUYS, then make a video of their attempt to hit the crossbar from a distance determined by player age. A live final competition will take place Sunday, November 14.

Please see https://fcdelco.org/events/fc-delco-cross-bar-challenge for more information on the program.

CUYS is very grateful for the support of FC DELCO and its families. Any other organizations looking to create philanthropic programs in support of CUYS should email jeannine@chesteruplandyouthsoccer.org

As indicated on the FC DELCO crossbar challenge web page, there are many ways to help the families served by CUYS, including:

  • Donate your time. Help coach, or mentor or tutor a child via Zoom.

  • Donate snacks.

  • Adopt a family or two for their athletic apparel needs.

All support is much appreciated.
